Pesticide Collection Coming to New York in October – Ag Matters

The proper use and handling of pesticides goes beyond application. In fact disposing of the leftovers is probably a bigger pain. The Department of Environmental Conservation will help ease your pain with collection events in early October for Central and Upstate New York.

It's part of CleanSweepNY, a group that organizes pesticide and chemical collection events that are intended for farmers, owners of former farms and commercial pesticide applicators.  Collections will be held:

• October 4th – Potsdam, NY
  October 5th – Watertown, NY
  October 6th – Herkimer, NY

Homeowners are not eligible to participate in the program, DEC officials say contact your local solid waste department for information on household hazardous waste events.
