Rodney Atkins has had some year. Of course we would say the highlight was his appearance at this years "Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo" back in June although Rodney might say it was just "one" of many. He recently scored his 5th #1 with "Take A Back Road" and according to CMT is now set to take part in the "CMA Songwriters Series" at Joe's Pub in New York City November 3rd.

August 27, 2011 Trailer Choir's Big Vinny Hickerson will be one of this seasons contestants on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" premiering September 20th. A big favorite at past Frogfest's Big Vinny encountered unspecified health problems earlier this year which forced Trailer Choir to bow out of this years "Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo".
August 18, 2011 Enjoy them while we have them...Saranac Thursdays, and tonight's the night. It's one of those signature events of the Frog Days of Summer. For those of you who have never been, it's live music and fun outdoors in the parking lot of the F.X. Matt Brewing Company, at the corner of Court and Varick Streets in Utica.
August 13, 2011 Darius Rucker is coming to Syracuse and he's bringing this years FrogFest headliner, Rodney Atkins with him. Tickets for the October 8th show at the OnCenter go on sale Monday August 22nd at 10am.
Darius Rucker is an incredible live performer and will play all of his #1 country hits including “All Right”, “It Won’t Be Like This For Long”, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It”, “History in The Making” and his current hit “I Got Nothin”. Before becoming a solo country artist, Darius was the lead singer for Hootie and The Blowfish, and brings some of their biggest hits to the stage during his shows as well.
August 10, 2011 Today is the big day. I will rappel (for the first time) over the Adirondack Bank Building at 11am. It's all part of Special Olympics New York 'Over The Edge' fundraiser where if you raise $1000, you can rappel.
A thousand dollars sounds like a lot of money, especially in this tough economy. I thought there would be no way to raise that much. But once again, our faithful listeners came through, in a big way. So far the total is $1525.00!
July 23, 2011 Round two of our Texaco Country Showdown saw more great local talent from Central New York. Plus, it was nice to get-away and enjoy some cooler breezes off Oneida Lake at beautiful Sylvan Beach. Check out the videos from the night's performances.
July 21, 2011 15 stories doesn't sound that high, until you're at the top looking down. I thought I'd take a look at the Adirondack Bank Building to see where I'd be rappelling for Special Olympics 'Over The Edge' event August 11th. I'll have to admit, it was a lot higher than I anticipated and I even had a moment of panic. But I've never committed to something and not come through; fear or no fear.
'Over The Edge' is all part of a fundraiser for Special Olympics of New York.
July 21, 2011 It is county fair time across the United States and Oneida County is no exception. The 123rd Boonville-Oneida County Fair opens Monday in Boonville with great food, music, rides and exhibits for the whole family. An added attraction this year will be The Painted Pony Rodeo, an event familiar to anyone who was with us at the Big Frog 104 Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo.
June 20, 2011 Rodney Atkins put on a great show at the Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo, but it's his closing number that has everyone talking. Not only did he throw the microphone into the audience a number of times so fans could sing "If You're Going Through Hell," he also brought 10 year old Andrew on stage to help him sing. Rodney even gave him the mic stand when he was done. If you got to sing or just want to watch what a great entertainer, and gentleman Rodney is, check out the video.
June 20, 2011 Rodney Atkins blew the roof off this at the Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo. Not only did he put on one heck of a performance by singing all his hits, his new music and tributes to Garth Brooks, Chris Ledoux and Charlie Daniels, but he's a really nice guy too. He took some time to sign autographs after the show, before he got back on his bus to go home and celebrate Father's Day with his kids.
June 20, 2011 The sun was out, the temperatures were hot, the bands were great and the Big Frog 104 fans were having an amazing time. Saturday was the Wild West FrogFest and Rodeo at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds and it was a fun time had by all.
