We've all seen the benefits of the quick response time in emergencies, thanks to the 9-1-1 call system. This weekend, you can get an inside look at what goes on at a local 9-1-1 center.

According to our sister station, WIBX:

"An open house will be held this weekend at the Oneida County 9-1-1 Center in Oriskany.

It will take place from 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturday.

Residents will get a chance to tour the facility.

County Executive Anthony Picente says some outstanding works takes place in the building and he thinks people who rely upon this center for their emergency communications might enjoy having a look to see what a sophisticated 911 Center looks like, and meet some of the trained individuals who handle calls and coordinate with our local emergency services providers during times of crisis."
