Bonnie Franklin, the actress who portrayed Ann Romano on the comedy series One Day At A Time has died.  Franklin was 69 and was reported to be battling pancreatic cancer last fall.  The TV show that aired from 1975 to 1984 wasn't her only role, but definetly her best known.

While it was a comedy series, One Day At A Time was a revoltutionary show during it's time, bringing attention to divorce, single mothers and feminism.

The show was created by Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, a husband-and-wife writing duo who were both actors in the 1950s and 1960s. The show was based on Whitney Blake's own life as a single mother, raising her child, future actress Meredith Baxter.

The show also brought us two new actresses who portrayed Franklin's daughters on the show, MacKenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli.  Of course the show also featured Schneider, the appartmen building maintenance man who embodied the soul of male machoism.  Check out the show's legendary theme song below.
