Olive Garden in New Hartford?

Is an Olive Garden restaurant really coming to New Hartford? It’s a rumor that’s been circulating for years. But this time, the rumor may be closer to a reality than we think.
The proposal is in front of the New Hartford planning board and will be discussed at the next board meeting Monday night at the New Hartford library.
Plans are to build the Italian restaurant on Commercial Drive, across from K-Mart, next to Moe’s Southwest Grill. If given the green light locally, the proposal would still need state approval. If all goes as planned, the restaurant would be open by mid-January.
Are you excited an Olive Garden is opening in our area or do you feel it takes business away from local Italian restaurants? I’ll be honest, I LOVE the Olive Garden and so does my teenaged daughter. It’ll be a girls night out for us though, since my husband is not a fan. He doesn’t like Italian food.
