Olive Garden Construction In New Hartford Has Begun

My wife and I were driving on Commercial Drive in New Hartford over the weekend when I noticed she was becoming noticeably excited. She told me her heart was racing and her pulse rate increasing. No, she wasn’t having a medical emergency, we were just passing the construction site of the soon to be open Olive Garden restaurant–her favorite–in New Hartford. While we wait for the breadsticks and salad to arrive here are some Olive Garden factoids to keep you distracted.
Here is some background from Wikipedia.
–The first Olive Garden was opened on December 13, 1982, in Orlando, Florida
–The company eventually became the largest chain of Italian-themed full-service restaurants in the United States.
–As of September 2012, the company operates over 800 restaurants globally.
– Newer restaurants are styled after a farmhouse in the town of Castellina in Chianti, Tuscany.
–The original slogan for Olive Garden was “Good Times, Great Salad, Olive Garden”. This was used when their main advertised product was the endless salad course. When soup and breadsticks were added onto this menu item, the saying was changed to “When you’re here, you’re family.”via Olive Garden – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
While a lot of people are looking forward to the opening of this popular chain let’s not forget to patronize all of the great LOCAL Italian restaurants, some of the best in the United States!
