NY Beef Council Fighting Hunger With ‘Farm To Food Bank’ – AG Matters

New York celebrates 'Beef Month' this May. The NY Beef Council is focusing the celebration on feeding the hungry, with the Farm to Food Bank initiative.  Here's how you can help.

A partnership between the council, Empire Livestock Marketing, Dairy Farmers of America and NY Beef Producer’s Association is asking beef and dairy farmers to donate cattle sale proceeds for the purchase of beef for five regional food banks across New York State.

“Farmers and ranchers are known for serving their communities in many ways. NY Beef Council and Empire Livestock Marketing have teamed up to allow a way to give back to those in need of the food bank in their areas.”

All donations will be used to buy beef and benefits 54 of the 62 New York counties.Each dollar donated provides 3-4 meals to an adult/child in need.  Get more details and donation forms on the Beef Council's website.
