February may going out like a lamb, but March is getting tricky right off the bat. A Winter Storm Watch late Thursday thru Friday may bring up to 9 inches of snow to Central New York.

The National Weather Sevice says while most of CNY will see some snow, the higher elevations will see some significant accumulations. Rain late Thursday afternoon (3/1) will mix with snow in the evening, becoming all snow on Friday. Winds will gust to 30 mph causing visibility concerns too.

WINTER STORM WATCH LATE THURSDAY THRU FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9
inches are possible. The higher end snow amounts will be in the
higher elevations.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida, Southern Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca,
Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung,
Tompkins, Tioga, Broome Yates, and Sullivan Counties.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night through Friday evening.
