New York Family Saves Baby Deer From Drowning in the 1000 Islands

A baby deer is alive thanks to a New York family vacationing in the 1000 Islands.

‎Joe Schmelzinger‎ and his family, who are from Buffalo, were boating in the 1000 Islands and came across a baby deer in the middle of the Lake Ontario. "He was tired and definitely wouldn't have made it across," says Joe's wife Annette.

Once the deer was brought on board the boat, it was wrapped in a towel until the family made it back to their camp. "We brought him on board, took him to our camp and found a nice wooded area and let him go. Who says they caught a deer in a lake."

We hope the baby finds its family.
