New York among hardest hit by Honey Smacks Salmonella recall. As the outbreak grows, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is adamant about consumers not eating the cereal and retailers pulling it from the shelves. Even if you have an old box laying around, toss it.

The latest report indicates 100 people in 33 states have fallen ill, with 30 ending up in the hospital. At least 11 of those cases were in New York, another 8 in PA.  Illnesses began breaking out as far back as March of this year and Kelloggs followed with a recall.  The map below shows where the outbreak has been confirmed. More information is available on the CDC's website.
