New Toy Shop With More Than Toys Coming to New Hartford

A new toy shop that has more than just toys is coming to New Hartford.

The Lady and Leap Toy Shop is opening in the New Hartford Shopping plaza, with engaging toys and special classes to help kids grow.

Store owner Cristin Heselton is a teacher who knows education is essential but says fun should be just as important. "Play is equally as important in the development of a child, but unfortunately isn’t always given that credit. Children learn a tremendous amount of skills through play, so I have adopted our motto: BECAUSE PLAY MATTERS!"

Lady and Leap Toy Shop’s mission is to help parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and anyone else involved in a child’s life , raise that child. "We firmly believe in 'it takes a village to raise a child' and we are part of that village," says Heselton. "We recognize there is more to raising a child than the products and services we will provide, so we will also support various community services."

Check out Lady and Leap Toy Shop at the grand opening Saturday, October 20th from 10am-8pm. There will be face painting and a balloon artist from 10am-2pm, various crafts, giveaways, and contests throughout the day. You can also sign up for future classes and events.
