New Auto Law Begins In New York In January 2017 [SPONSORED CONTENT]
If you're a fan of tinted windows, 2017 is not going to be your year. Coming up in January of 2017, a new auto law is going into effect.
If your front windshield and side windows block more than 30% of sunlight, your vehicle will not pass car inspection beginning January of 2017. You can check in at any Carbone location in Central New York to make sure your car is street legal.
According to the DMV, this law also applies to the rear window unless the vehicle has outside rear-view mirrors on both sides. The mirrors must give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle.”
If you have a medical condition that requires you to have tinted vehicle windows, you can download an exemption form and see if the DMV allows it.
