Students from Bradley Elementary in New Hartford traveled to Darien Lake over the weekend to compete in the annual music festival. In addition to riding some crazy coasters the students in the chorus, band, and string orchestra performed for the top prize. The orchestra took first place, while the band and chorus also placed in the top 5.

TJ McAvaney is one of the many talented and dedicated music instructors for the New Hartford School District. He was so proud of his Bradley Elementary musicians who competed at Darien Lake. He also says, "Congratulations to our Bradley String Orchestra for their First place award. Mrs. Wilcox and the students' hard work and preparation garnered outstanding results."

Of course New Hartford is no stranger to great musical accomplishments and accolades. You know it's summer when you can hear the New Hartford Marching Band practicing on the high school football field in the evening hours. The marching band is one of the many amazing products of musical education at the high school. May this school continue on the path of success and congratulations to all the students who did so well this past weekend.
