New From Saranac – Red IPA
As a former tour guide at the F.X. Matt Brewery, I take a keen interest in the new products from my friends at the brewery. They’ve come up with a new brew for the season…Saranac Red IPA.

IPA’s (India Pale Ales) generally tend to be a bit hoppyer than other ales, and the new Red IPA has a unique red color. Here’s a description of the new brew according to saranac.com:
“Red IPA
Availability: 12 Beers A Springing 2013, 6 packs, 12 packs, draught
Brewers Notes:
Our Red IPA is a twist on a traditional west coast IPA featuring a deep red color from European dark caramel malts. We brew with generous amounts of American hops including Calypso, Palisade and Chinook to give this IPA a distinctive hop aroma. You’ll notice a strong hoppy flavor with caramel malt undertones and a unique color that gives this IPA a whole new personality!
Beer Style: India Pale Ale
Malt Selections: US 2-Row, UK Dark Crystal Malt, Dutch Munich Malt
Hop Selections: US Calypso, Palisade, Chinook, Delta
Food Companions: Pad Thai, curry dishes, spiced rice pudding, blue cheeses
