National School Principals Day Today-Matt’s 5 Favorites

It's funny but when anyone mentions a school principal my first thought is “trouble” as in getting sent to the principal's office for some minor offense. However school principals do much more than mete out punishment to juvenile malefactors. They must deal with teachers, school boards and parents as well as the kids so we salute the school principal today on National School Principal Day. Here–tongue in cheek–are some of the more famous school principals.
Principal Rooney-Ferris Buehler's Day Off
Principal Rooney's (Jeffrey Jones) search for the hooky playing Ferris did not go well. A kick in the chops and an attack by the family dog were just a few of his problems.
Principal Vernon-The Breakfast Club
Principal Vernon (Paul Gleason) sets the rules for "The Breakfast Club" but do they follow them. No.
Principal Skinner-The Simpsons
Principal Skinner struggles to control the crumbling school and is constantly engaged in a battle against its inadequate resources, apathetic and bitter teachers and, of course, Bart Simpson.
Principal McGee-Grease
Rydell High was blessed with a pretty nice principal. Principal McGee (Eve Arden) did insist on some discipline but was also very attached to her students witness her tears upon their graduation.
Mr. Belding-Saved By the Bell
Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) told more than his share of bad jokes but his main "concern" always seemed to be Zack. Although they were often at odds he did have an affection concern for "the son I never had".
