“My Father and the Man in Black” – The Son of Johnny Cash’s Manager Makes Tell All Documentary [VIDEO]
Jonathan Holiff grew up not knowing why his father, Saul was gone for weeks at a time. Later he would learn that his dad was busy managing the career of the legendary Johnny Cash. He couldn’t believe what he found after his father’s death. He’s compiled a collection of photos, audio recordings and videos into the documentary called “My Father and the Man in Black.” Click for a sneak peak.
Jonathan was estranged from his father as a teenager and never knew a lot about his childhood or his father’s career. After his dad committed suicide in 2005, Jonathan found a treasure trove of audio recordings, family photos and videos of people he didn’t even recognize. It was then he learned about the turbulent life of not only Johnny Cash, but his estranged father, Saul Holiff.
The documentary has set numerous box office records in Canada and is set to make it’s premiere in the New York CIty and Los Angeles in the next few weeks. Below is the official trailer for the film and an interview with Jonathan Holiff on a Canadian morning TV show.
