Mohawk Valley Health System is responding to the decision by Sauquoit Valley Pediatrics, Slocum-Dickson Medical Group and Utica Pediatrics to no longer provide coverage at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

MVHS has issued the following statement:

“While I can’t speak to why the pediatricians decided that they would no longer be a part of the active or courtesy medical staffs of the hospitals, I can say that we, the hospital, are very disappointed in this decision,” commented Michael Trevisani, MD, MBA, senior vice president and chief medical officer for FSLH and SEMC. “What’s important for the community to know is that they can continue to bring their children to our Emergency Departments and to the hospitals for any scheduled surgeries or outpatient needs. We have pediatric coverage available; it just won’t be by a provider from one of these three medical practices.”
