Mr. Haggard Goes To Washington

No, it's not a remake of the Jimmy Stewart classic but a celebration of Merle Haggards contribution to American culture.  Merle will be featured in a two-hour CBS special "The Kennedy Center Honors" tonight at 9.  The actual awards ceremony was held December 5th and featured performances from his pals Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson among others.Merle, Paul McCartney, Oprah Winfrey, Broadway lyricist Jerry Herman ("Hello Dolly") and choreographer Bill T. Jones were all recognized for their contributions to American popular culture.
