Most and Least Useful High School Classes

A friend’s daughter came home from school recently having just failed an algebra test and asked why she had to take such a “dumb” subject. One can understand her frustration but I think that we all realize that while most core courses are important to a well rounded education there are some that, once we leave school, we are likely never to actually utilize. What are those courses of questionable use?
Yahoo contributor David Reinstein listed these.
Latin
Algebra
Geometry
Civics (Social Studies)
American History
I agree with Latin and maybe algebra but American history and civics have been important in my post-grad life. Knowing where our country has been serves as a big help in trying to figure out where it is going.
