The American Red Cross has launched a massive response to Hurricane Harvey, to get help where it's needed. 24 volunteers from Eastern New York have already left for Texas and more are needed.

Boot camps to prepare volunteers have been so successful, more are being planned. More than 150 people took part, 70 in Utica alone, during the first round. Four additional boot camp sessions will be held in the next two weeks with another in Utica September 9th.
