Is it me or did we suddenly jump right into the middle of winter?  It's a second straight day of Lake Effect snow for Northern Oneida and Herkimer Counties.  There is some relief in sight, click for the details on where the majority of snow will hit.According the National Weather Service, an intense Lake Ontario snow band has shifted into far northern Oneida and Herkimer Counties.  Snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour can be expected, with wind gusts of 25 to 35 m.p.h creating whiteout conditions at times.  The major snowfall will be in these areas:

along and north of Florence to Boonville to Forestport...with the heaviest snow towards Woodgate in the northeastern corner of Oneida County.  Up to 2 feet of snow possible North of Route 28 in Herkimer County.

The snow bands should lift north of Boonville early this morning and exit Herkimer County by lunchtime.
