With today's energy costs, many are looking for alternatives to providing clean energy that's affordable. One option is windmills, but not everyone agrees with that idea.

According to our sister station, WIBX:

"The Rolling Wind Uphill Farm is facing an uphill battle in the Town of Madison.

Thirty-six people challenged the 36 windmills that are being proposed for the $110 million project. A total of 41 members of the public spoke at the hearing last night that attracted about 150 people.

Proponents say that the windmills will bring about 300 jobs to the area. Opponents say that the 492-feet tall structures would adversely affect their quality of life.

Comments about the plan are being accepted until May18, 2012. Correspondence should be sent to: the Town of Madison Planning Board; Post Office Box 66; Madison, New York 13402."
