My first thought was, "This has to be a set up". A Maine man suffering from dementia had been missing for 14 hours when a TV news crew showed up to tape a report in an effort to locate him. Then, lo and behold, as the reporter was preparing to tape who should wander into the picture but the very man who was the subject of the search.

73-year old Robert McDonough had been reported as missing. McDonough suffers from dementia and was thought to have simply wandered off.

WMTW News 8 reporter Norm Karkos was preparing to deliver a live report on "News 8 This Morning" early Tuesday when McDonough walked into the frame. Karkos did not immediately recognize McDonough, who then identified himself to the stunned TV crew. The man appeared to be in good condition, although Karkos said he spotted "some blood on McDonough's hand."

It was a fortunate turn of events that found the TV crew on the path of Robert's walk and resulted in a happy ending.
