For the first time in over 30 years, milk will cost more at the New York State Fair.  A cup of milk at one of the fair's most popular attractions will go from 25 cents to 50 cents.  It's the first price increase since 1983.

The New York State Dairy Exhibits Inc. runs the dairy products building.  Their biggest source of income is the sale of those 7-ounce cups of white or chocolate milk.  Board member Bruce krupke told Syracuse.com that the 33 years of absorbing all the costs became too much.

Nearly 400,000 cups of milk are sold each year at the state fair.

The Great New York State Fair runs August 25th through September 5th.
