Matt Lauer To Replace Alex Trebeck On Jeopardy?

Alex Trebek has been hosting the popular game show “Jeopardy” for nearly three decades. After suffering a heart attack last year he was being talked into continuing at that position for another two years but insists that he will not sign on for an extension. That leaves the door open for a successor, but who? UPI reports that the “Today” shows Matt Lauer is high on the list of possibilities.
Lauer has been making headlines, reported to be on his way out as the host of the “Today” show when his $25-million-a-year contract expires in 2015. Lauer is blamed for the show’s ratings drop after 16 years as number one.
The report goes on to say that another possible candidate is CNN’s Anderson Cooper. The decision on Trebek’s replacement is still a year or so off so other names will no doubt be bandied about before a final decision is made.
