Manatee Watches Over Scared Dog Before Rescue [PHOTOS]

Never underestimate the kindness of animals. A dog became stuck in a river overnight, clawing to get free. While the pooch waited for help to arrive, a friend waited with him.  The special moment was captured by Tampa police. Look closely and you'll see a manatee sticking by the dog's side until he was rescued.

Tampa police say neighbors heard noises overnight and spotted the dog in the river the next morning. MPO Randy Lopez rescued the pup who was covered in bug bites and had bloody paws.

The pooch was reunited with his owners.
