If you are a lover of cats, dogs and all things four-legged and furry, the Stevens-Swan Humane Society could use your help.

Right now the shelter is going through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to supplies for their animals, especially their cats and kittens.

Since SSHS is a non-profit organization, they rely on community members to help care for all of the animals they bring in on a daily basis. That's where you come in.

If you would like to help out some kittens in need, there is a list of things you can drop off to the shelter at anytime during regular business hours.

  • Canned food
  • Cat litter (clay)
  • Scratching pads and posts
  • Cat trees
  • Cat nip, toys, and treats
  • Cat beds

If instead of shopping, you would rather just make a monetary donation, the shelter says money is their biggest need. Any money donated is used to provide all animals at the shelter with veterinary care.

Monetary donations are tax deductible.

A full list of needs for cats, dogs and general supplies can be found at Stevens-Swan.org.

The Stevens-Swan Humane Society is located at 5664 Horatio Street Utica, and they're open Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
