Predicting milk price is like predicting the weather, you do it with your fingers crossed. Cornell Cooperative Extension offices across Central New York will host a webinar on what can be expected in 2016.

With January now behind us we are now one month closer to spring. Winter weather predictions appear to be nearly accurate for our area; reduced snow fall amounts and repeated warming trends. We all know we can’t control the weather patterns any more than we can control the changeable milk prices seen so far in 2016. We can however, try to understand the patterns and future outlook in the milk marketing arena. On Wednesday February 10th from 6:00- 8:00pm, Andy Novakavic, the E.V. Baker Professor of Agricultural Economics, Cornell University will discuss the 2016 milk outlook. This unique opportunity will be offered via WebEx and held only at various Cooperative Extension offices. Unlike other WebEx webinars, individuals will not be able to log on from their home computers in order to participate. Topics to be discussed include market outlook, patterns in milk productions as well as trends in dairy food consumption. There will be time for questions and discussion following the webinar. To register for a seat in the Herkimer Co. Cooperative Extension office please call 315-866-7920 by February 9th. For more information please contact Marylynn Collins at 736-3394 ext. 132.
