Last night's thunderstorm in central New York packed quite a wallop. I was sitting in our family room at 7:45 p.m. during the storm and could hear hail, wind and rain pummeling our windows. Police, Fire and DPW crews have been busy in the aftermath of that storm.

According to our sister station, WIBX:

"Local police, fire, public works crews and utility workers were busy last night as severe storms moved through the area.

The New Hartford Police and Fire Departments and New York Mills Fire Department responded to 45 calls for downed power lines, flooded roads and trees and limbs that came down blocking roads.

Crews from the New Hartford Town Highway Department and Village DPW worked throughout the night to clear roads of downed trees and debris.

Utility workers also worked throughout the night, restoring power to most residents by early this morning."
