Letting Neighbors Borrow Things-A Good Idea?

M.Herkimer Collection

I was cleaning out the garage over the weekend when I came across golf bag pull cart. I couldn’t remember ever having one until it struck me that I had borrowed it from Greg “Splashin” McShea about a year ago. When I brought it to his attention I was relieved to hear him say that he had forgotten all about it. But that’s not always the case.

There are some “do’s and don’ts” when it comes to borrowing from the neighbors or vice-versa. Here are some “golden rules” from TheHappyHousewife.com.

1) Find out which of your friends and neighbors are amenable to a borrowing relationship.

2) Decide whether the item needs to be borrowed.

3) If you break it or damage it, replace it right away.
