Since that devastating defeat to the The San Antonio Spurs NBA fans have been wondering what Lebron James would do entering free agency. Well the answer is finally here! Lebron James announced via an essay in Sports Illustrated that he will be returning to where his NBA career began in Cleveland, Ohio.

Here is a Tweet Lebron posted with a link to the article:

In the opening statement of his letter, he made it clear why he wanted to return to home.

Before anyone ever cared where I would play basketball, I was a kid from Northeast Ohio. It’s where I walked. It’s where I ran. It’s where I cried. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.

I have always been a Lebron supporter and this decision makes me respect him 100% more. Most of your incredible players like to stay in big cities and play for "marquee teams." The fact that he wants to go back to a struggling team like Cleveland and win one for the city is commendable. It will be awesome to see him play for the team that gave him his NBA start.
