Wished your dog would listen and behave better?  Want to train them yourself?  Learn how at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County's 4-H Dog Obedience classes.

The classes meet once a week for eight weeks beginning April 25.  While the program is aimed at 4-H youth age 9 to 19, you don't have to be a member to enroll.  Your dog must be at least six months old and have current vaccinations.  Here's the class schedule.

The classes teach the youth how to properly train their dog at home. Dogs are brought to the classes but the majority of the training is expected to take place at home. The youth will learn how to teach their dog to sit, heal, come, halt, stand, stay, and down.

Upon completion of the class, you are eligible to participate in the Oneida County 4-H Dog show.  Cost of the program is $15 for 4-H members and $30 for non-members.  You can register online or get more information by calling Kristi Cranwell at 315-736-3394, Ext.122 or email kac292@cornell.edu.
