* locations...northern Herkimer and Hamilton counties.

* Hazard types...heavy lake effect snow.

* Accumulations...7 inches or more of lake effect snow is possible late today through Wednesday. The heaviest totals are expected to be north of Route 28.

* Timing...bands of heavy lake effect snow are expected to shift southward into extreme northern portions of Herkimer and Hamilton counties by late today. Lake effect snow could persist through much of tonight...lasting into Wednesday for especially the northern half of Herkimer County and northwest portions of Hamilton County...localized heavy accumulations of snow is possible with snowfall rates exceeding an inch per hour.

* Impacts...snow covered roads and reduced visibility within any lake effect snow bands
