Lady Antebellum Disappointed After Bruce Springsteen Silenced at London Concert
The superstar trio were the support act on the gig at Hyde Park, a typical marathon Springsteen event that featured guest appearances by Tom Morello and John Fogerty. But it was the final guest star of the evening who got the most attention, as Sir Paul McCartney came out to join the Boss for an encore that included “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Twist and Shout.” During the second song, however, the show officially ran over curfew, and the two living musical legends abruptly found themselves without power, bringing the night to a sudden end.
“I’m sure there was definitely a reason,” Lady A singer Hillary Scott says understandingly (quote via the Huffington Post). “I hear that they had a very strict curfew in Hyde Park.”
In a press statement after the incident, promoters Live Nation said the show was stopped due to “health and safety” issues.
Lady Antebellum are in the U.K. for a series of shows, which they described as “pretty wild” before a performance at London’s Hammersmith Apollo Monday night.
