Labor Day has come to recognize two things.  Originally started as a way to honor the working man and woman, it has also evolved into the last blast of summer before the kids go back to school.  As a kid, I grew up in a farming community where it was as much a celebration of the season's harvest as it was a day of relaxation.  Does your family have a labor day tradition?

Our tradition was a giant fish fry with the entire neighborhood.  We would spend the majority of free time during the summer weekends at area farm's fishing and gigging frogs. Whatever we caught was cleaned and packaged for later.  Then when Labor Day Weekend rolled around it was one giant cookout with the entire neighborhood.

Now there seems to be many traditions.  Cookouts, parades, camping and attending fairs.  What was your family tradition for Labor Day?
