Kitty Hoynes in downtown Syracuse set a goal for the St. Baldrick's Day head shaving event at $400,000. Not only did they meet that, they destroyed that goal.

According to Syracuse.com, from the most recent count, the total was $538,270. That's more than any group raised last year for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research around the country.

The event took place on April 10th with 573 people willing to shave their heads to raise the $538,270. One team named Luke's Army raised the most that day, with $80,773.
