Kenny Chesney told The Hollywood Reporter he's taking 2014 off.  If your first thought was, wait he just took a year off.  That was three years ago, when took off 2010. Click to find out why he's taking a break.

With the exception of 2010, Kenny has sold at least a million tickets every year since 2004.  This year, he's set to make that one and a quarter million tickets.

"I love touring more than anyone in the world," Chesney tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I love the band, the crew, the whole team -- and it's weird to not be looking at next year's stage design, but I shouldn't make albums to service the tour

Kenny says taking off next year will enable him to focus on making a new album.  And perhaps, even get more personal than his most recent collection, "Life On A Rock."

"It's a lot harder to find those songs than you'd think, and writing takes time -- to think, to live, to be."

If you have ever been to Kenny Chesney a concert, you know he's non-stop energy, if you've never been,  just imagine a Zumba workout for 2 hours.  And he does it 40 or 50 times a year.

If Kenny's current schedule remains true, his show at Finger Lakes Community College's CMAC in Canandaigua on August 21 would be one of the final shows before his sabbatical.
