KENNY CHESNEY stepped-up big time for some families who lost children in the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy. It started when Kenny's friend ANDERSON COOPER told him about one girl in particular who was a huge fan.  Before her parents lowered her casket into the ground, they took a Sharpie and wrote on it, "Kenny Chesney, No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems."

Anderson asked Kenny if he'd give her parents a call, but he went beyond that. Kenny invited them and several other Newtown families to his Connecticut concert and took the time meet with them and hear their stories.

Kenny also left with a keepsake I doubt he'll soon forget: It's a wristband that reads "Sandy Hook Strong."  I teared up when I read this story.  Good for Kenny to take time to give the family a little joy in their life, if only for a few hours.
