Keith Urban Confirmed as American Idol Judge

After all the rumors of Keith Urban being a judge on American Idol, it looks like the rumors are true.  According to The Country Vibe he deal is done.  Urban will join Mariah Carey who already signed on to the show for $18 million.  He won't make that much though.  It looks like his deal is worth $3 million.  

Idol execs wanted a country star on the panel this year and it came d0wn to Brad Paisley and Urban.  A deal couldn't be reached with Paisley who asking for the $8.5 million Nicki Minaj is rumored to be getting.

Minaj will fill a third seat on the judging panel with a fourth being considered.  Randy Jackson may move into a mentoring role with Jimmy Iovine in the next season.

Thankfully they went in this direction.  With Carey, Minaj and possibly Kanye West, this country fan wouldn't be tuning in for the new season.  But now that Urban has been confirmed to be on the show, this Keith fan won't miss it.
