Last Tuesday (April 10), Keith Urban and a host of celebrity acts took Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena by storm to play to a sold-out audience of nearly 14,000 fans. The event, the Urban-hosted We’re All for the Hall benefit concert, served to raise money for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This year, Urban was joined by Vince Gill, who helped him land on the theme to celebrate country duos, vocal groups and bands.

“This museum, and country music in general, could not ask for greater ambassadors and caretakers than Vince Gill and Keith Urban,” Museum Director Kyle Young said in a press release. “They have such a reverence for this music’s history, and are passionate about its future. The first We’re All for the Hall benefit, in 2009, was a game changer for this museum in terms of both fundraising and awareness, and this year’s show, the third, has again helped take this institution to another level.”

This year, the event raised $465,000 for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, rounding out the three-year total to nearly $1.5 million. This year’s lineup included bands like Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Thompson Square, the Band Perry and more.

In the middle of the show, Urban received the surprise of a lifetime when he was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Responding to the marriage proposal of country music, Urban was at first speechless, but then managed to get out, “Thank you … thank you so much. I don’t know what to say, but first — yes! Thank you very much to everybody at the Grand Ole Opry who made this possible. I’m shocked. How beautiful for this to happen tonight of all nights.”
