Johnny Cash may have been the man in black but he had a heart of gold. He wrote his wife June a love letter for her birthday and it's been voted the greatest love letter of all time by Daily Mail.

Dated June 1994, the love letter is better than any lyric Cash wrote:

'I realize how lucky I am to share my life with the greatest woman I ever met. You still fascinate and inspire me. You influence me for the better. You're the object of my desire, the #1 earthly reason for my existence.'

Now THAT is how you write a love letter.

Cash's birthday letter tops messages by Keats, Churchill and Hollywood lovers Richard Burton and Liz Taylor. Winston Churchill's words of love to his 'darling Clemmie' in 1935 came second. Read his and other love letters at Daily Mail.
