Comedian brother of Dick Van Dyke, Jerry Van Dyke, has died.

The Coach star was 86.

According to The New York Times, Van Dyke's wife, Shirley Ann Jones, said her husband passed away at their Arkansas ranch on Friday, January 5. She also added that "his health had deteriorated since a traffic accident in 2015" and has never been the same.

Jerry Van Dyke made one of his earliest acting debuts on his brother's show, The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s. His acting career only continued as he made short appearances on The Andy Griffith ShowMy Mother the Car, and Accidental Family. Van Dyke was also well-known for being a part of The Judy Garland Show and the game show Picture This.

However, out all roles played in his career, Van Dyke's was best known as Luther Van Dam on the ABC comedy show Coach in 1989. Because of his role as the opposite of Craig T. Nelson, Van Dyke was nominated for four Emmy nominations.

Jerry Van Dyke is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Van Dyke and his two children, Jerri Lynn and Ronald.
