Jerrod Niemann headlines this year's Wild West FrogFest & Rodeo June 13th at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds, presented by White's Farm Supply.

Niemann is looking forward to being a part of FrogFest, a place he thinks he'll feel right at home. "That's where I fit in the best. When I'm around too many smart people, it kind of makes me sweat a bit. I like intelligent people that know how to survive, opposed to people who have learned a bunch of stuff and think they can recite everything."

Niemann grew up in Kansas but has called Nashville home for years. It took him quite some time before making a name for himself. "I was lucky enough to write songs before finally getting a record deal. We've just been trying to keep it between the ditches ever since."

Niemann has been busy working on a new album, getting married and spending time time on the road opening up for Keith Urban, an artist he already looked up to. "He's a class act and I walked away an even bigger fan."

While on the road, Niemann joined the burned bus club after watching his burn to the ground. "Actually I saw it explode, like a Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis would have been proud." Niemann was at a show with Lee Brice, who's bus had just burned the month before, and Brice said "'It smells like your bus is on fire. I just kind of laughed it off, thinking he was paranoid because his bus has caught fire." After Brice insisted his bus was burning, Niemann got off and "five minutes later everything shot out the front."

Justin Moore, Randy Houser and Wynonna have all seen their buses burn as well.

Niemann has added a little comic relief to his show with the release of his single 'Donkey.' "When you see us in June, for the first time you'll see a donkey playing a banjo. Feel free to shoot him and put him out of his misery. He'll be in season," he jokes.

Niemann loves being on the road and playing in front of crowd, but some shows are more special than others. "We love being anywhere that says Fest and when you put Frog in front of it I know we're going to have a good time. We're going to do our best to make sure it's entertaining. If anyone has any requests, just feel free to keep them to yourself because we're going to do what we want to do," Niemann jokes.

"Bark out anything like drunken pirates. We're going to have some fun," Niemann promises.
