Jeremy Teel – Thank a Farmer

We’ve teamed up with Whites Farm Supply, Case IH and James Wesley to ‘Thank a Farmer.' One farmer will win a $2500 White's Farm Supply gift certificate and a personal phone call from Wesley to 'Thank a Farmer. Today we recognize Jeremy Teel nominated by his wife Carly. 

I would like to nominate Jeremy Teel from Barneveld, NY.  He is my husband, the father of our two beautiful children, and a wonderful friend to so many. He comes from a long line of farmers, and has used the knowledge passed on from generations to grow a very successful business. Jeremy grew up on a dairy farm, but now specializes in growing and harvesting many crops. His main focus is planting and harvesting corn and soybeans - not to mention praying everyday in between that the weather cooperates and the crops yield in our favor - Farming is such a gamble! While the crops are busy growing through the summer, Jeremy also spends his time on tractors in the hay fields, mowing, tedding, raking, baling, hauling, unloading, and stacking thousands of bales every summer. I'm not quite sure how he gets is all done!

Farming requires hard work 24/7. There have been so many days that he leaves the house before we are awake, and returns after the family is sound asleep - but it is part of the job. Sometimes he will join us for dinner, and then run back to the fields to catch the last few hours of day light (and then some) before calling it a day. If there is a chance Jeremy is caught up with his field work, fixing and maintaining equipment, and all of the other tasks required in his day, you will find him helping out on the family farm or helping a neighbor farmer catch up. He can't sit still! He also enjoys a good tractor pull at the local county fair...

Jeremy is looked up to, and respected by so many, in particular, our six year old son, Ty. Ty has been on the tractor with his daddy since he was just two months old! What a great influence he has been to our children - teaching them and raising them to be hard workers. He wouldn't have it any other way!

"The man who gets ahead is the man who does more than necessary - and keeps on doing it…" This is a quote Jeremy has heard multiple times growing up, and he sees it on a daily basis, as it is framed and displayed on his dresser. Jeremy has come so far with growing and creating an operational business, and it is truly because he goes above and beyond! It is safe to say there are many people and animals in this world that Jeremy has worked so hard to feed! A huge thank you to 'My Farmer' for working so hard for us!
