James Avery Who Played Uncle Phil on ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ Has Died
James Avery, the man best known for his role as uncle Phil on the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ has died. He passed away on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles at the age of 65.

According to TMZ, Avery died from complications from a recent open heart surgery operation.
Growing up I watched every episode of the Fresh Prince. Uncle Phil, Will, Carlton and the whole gang were part of my childhood and brought great joy to my life. James Avery will always be Uncle Phil to me and the man will be missed.
