It’s National Skinny Dipping Day!

It may not be for everyone but a majority of Americans have, at one time or another, doffed their swimming duds and jumped into a pool, a lake or some other body of water to enjoy frolicking “au natural” either alone or with a group of friends. Today we celebrate that goofy exercise in foolish fun on National Skinny Dipping Day. Exactly how many people have gone skinny dipping?
A new “Summer Fun Survey” commissioned by Metromint water found that, out of 1,000 men and women, 56 percent of people have gone skinny dipping or just over half.

Actually I find that number to be suspiciously low. I suppose there are some people who just don’t want to admit to doing it and others who probably–because of a fair amount of alcohol consumption–don’t remember. Still in all, skinny dipping has been a part of the American silliness scene for as long as there have been silly people and will probably continue indefinitely.
