It’s National Chocolate Chip Day a day we salute that versatile little chuck of chocolate that can be found in cookies, cookie dough, cakes, ice cream and even pancakes. According to PopularCookieRecipes.com Nestle’s introduced the first commercially available chocolate chips back in 1939. Now I know that mom or grandma makes the best chocolate chip cookies but how about the ones you buy at the store?
Although there are no statistics telling us what the best selling brands of chocolate chip cookies are one can surmise that some of the best known names like Chips Ahoy, Mrs. Fields, Keebler and Famous Amos are high on that list. Be they chewy of crisp the chocolate chip is an American staple so happy National Chocolate Chip day cookie lovers!
