The short answer to that question is yes.  The good news for Central New York is that the Nor'easter's biggest impact will most likely be Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  The National Weather says there is the potential for a historic winter storm and blizzard.  For CNY we can still expect some pretty heavy snow fall.

While the storms main wallop could contain up to 2 feet of snow, it appears we may see 8 to 12 inches.  Most likely snow would start Friday morning with the heavier snowfall coming Friday afternoon and evening.

POTENTIAL FOR 8 TO 12 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY GREATER THAN A FOOT POSSIBLE NEAR AND NORTH OF THE THRUWAY CORRIDOR...AND ALSO IN SECTIONS OF THE CATSKILLS.
Breezy conditions could make blowing and drifting snow a problem for travel.  Get more details on the Winter Storm Watch here.  And more information on the Blizzard Watch for Massachusetts and Rhode Island here.  Follow the latest weather trends on our Weather Page.
