Did it really snow in central New York in the middle of Summer? It sure looks like it from some of the pictures out of Barneveld.

The snow was actually hail that fell after a strong thunderstrom rolled through. Although most areas in central New York saw heavy rain, places in the higher elevations saw hail, and losts of it. Enough to make it look like snow in late June.

Snow in June is rare, but it has happened. Saranac Lake saw heavy snow with visibility down to a quarter mile in 2009, according to Accuweather.

This year's weather has been crazy. We started with a mild Winter to 'Stella,' that dumped snow in feet to a late, wet Spring. And Summer isn't much better. Maybe we'll get an Indian Summer.
