How To Make The Perfect Turducken- Three Bird Roast
Looking to make something different this holiday season? Here's how to make the perfect "Turducken". It's also known as "Three Bird Roast".
So what in the world is a Turducken? Turducken is a dish consisting of a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, stuffed into a deboned turkey. That also doesn't count any of the stuffing that is stuffed in between all of these birds. Another variation on this is Gooducken, which is a goose stuffed with a duck, which is in turn stuffed with a chicken.
And that's how you can shake up your holiday season!
Here's what you'll need:
1 turkey (16-18 lbs)
1 chicken (around 4 lbs)
4 boneless duck breasts (around 2 lbs total)
Stuffing (around 4 lbs of your favorite recipe)
Butcher’s twine
A sharp knife
A trussing needle"
Remember to roast the turducken at 375°F for around 25 minutes per pound. You can also check to make sure the internal temperature is 165°F before serving.
